Galactic chalcedony

a new find of 2020 of an interesting dark grey/green chalcedony occured in Java (Jawa Timur)

The material shows lots of spheres formed inside the host. The greenish color is due to iron and these spherulites are sometimes empty,partially filled or completely solid with a concentric small crystals on the surface . The conclusion after analysis has proven a silica content, therefore these little spheres are cristobalite.

The cabochon is hand polished on both side.
