Lizardite
is a Magnesium Iron Silicate Hydroxide with formula Mg 3Si2O5(OH)4 and hardness of 3-4.
In this case I found traces of hematite that probably is the agent for this pink reddish color.
This material was sold to me as Bustamite ,but after an X rays diffraction test, the result was Lizardite.
Is an unusual color and it is found in the are where sugilite is mined:Wessel Mine, northern Cape Province, South Africa.
Silky and translucent.
Size: 7.1x6.5x4.4 mm.
