Chrome chalcedony is a green variety of the mineral chalcedony, colored by small quantities of chromium. It is most commonly found in Zimbabwe, where it is known as Mtorolite, Mtorodite, or Matorolite. Occasionally it may contain small grains of black chromite.

This material can be distinguished from normal green chalcedony because the Chelsea filter appears reddish ,while the other type remains green.
