In these recent years ( from 2010 -2016) we found on the market some garnet coming from Mozambique and Tanzania,(some dealr said from Madagascar ) with a definite amethyst color and also with a good color change from 5500° K fluorescent light to a normal incandescent light source.

This garnet is a pyrope-almandine with a high refractive index of 1.79 and higher.
